Tea Please!

No-Starbucks.jpg

Coffee is the “in” thing right now. Run to Starbucks and get a pumpkin spice latte! Or a Peppermint Mocha! Or a Café Latte! By the way, all are not a healthy cup of Joe! Starbucks café latte is 460 calories, total fat 18g, total carbs 72g, total protein 6g.

Back in 2014 while on the elimination diet, I gave up coffee. I did eventually add it back in but always had this hunch coffee was not for me. I purchased only organic, and I also tried mixing Teeccino dandelion tea with my coffee to maybe make it less bad!

In 2018 I did a candida diet to kill my yeast overgrowth. This lasted 8 weeks. My hunch was getting stronger, coffee may not agree with me.

The last year or so I switched to only drinking bulletproof coffee.

I loved the taste and it was so much better for me! But in time I was feeling the same way, coffee does not agree with my gut and overall, I just did not feel good.

2020 is not only a New year, but a New decade! I quit my coffee again! I truly believe I am intolerant to coffee, no matter how clean it is.

I am now drinking tea or bone broth in the morning. Somedays I skip, but I use my coffee maker to make my tea. I stay away from black tea, but love green tea, ginger tea and lemon balm. At night I will drink chamomile. I always add a tad of raw honey and some collagen peptides.

Listen to your body! Better yet listen to your gut. How do you feel? Give it up for 30 days and see what happens. When you introduce it again, drink it for 3 days, you may be surprised.
