It Has Been Too Long!
It has been a while since I have sat down to write for my blog. I get so busy with life I sometimes forget to take the time for this. I am busy with retirement (golf, family, friends, and fun), coaching others with health issues, serving on committees and taking care of my health.
This past January I was asked to share my story for a group of people in the community where I live during the Winter months. I agreed to speak but I must admit, I wasn’t sure if I could talk for 2 hours in front of people. I wrote a small article in our local paper to introduce myself and to pique some interest. The presentation went very well, and best of all it really got people talking about health. Here is a link to my recorded presentation. My friend recorded it from her phone. It's my first presentation and my first public Rumble.
This journey of mine has continued to amaze me and others. I received my first normal CPK last August. This is one test that I didn’t think I would ever see in normal range. I often tell others to take baby steps and to never give up. Healing is possible. I am living, healthy proof.
I have had one of my best golf seasons to date this, Winter. I am hitting the ball with great distance again and scoring well. My endurance is incredible, and I am so blessed to have such strength after this rare disease tried to destroy my muscles.
I started a closed coaching group and as of right now I have 20 incredible women who I support. The promise of Romans 8:28 that God works for good “in all things” is reassuring. This means no matter the circumstances (even a rare autoimmune disease) trusting that “Gods got this”, good will come! These 20 women I now call friends. Supporting their healing and sharing my faith are just two of the “good” that came from my illness. I pray my CPK stays in normal range, but most of all I pray I feel good and stay healthy for many years to come. If I can help others along the way that is my added blessing and theirs!
